More Info

GiroBank “Dot”, “Pension”, “Kiss” + “Torture Test” [00:30]# The teaser spot in this campaign features a small square, consisting of a red and a yellow triangle. It appears in the middle of the TV screen on top of the image that is just being shown there. Whenever the two guys discussing this strange phenomenon from the off attempt to get rid of it, e.g. by switching to another channel, switching off the TV, etc. They don’t succeed. As it turns out in the following commercials, the yellow/red square stands for the Danish GiroBank and, in this campaign, is superimposed on certain stock scenes to highlight some of their services. So, for instance, we see footage of a meeting of the Soviet Central Committee, then the sign is superimposed and the next frame shows the super: Pensions with the GiroBank and, a number to call. Similarly, on a love scene from a silent movie the sign is imposed and then caption: Child loans. Or, after rather old and quint looking original footage of a TV undergoing a “torture test,” the commercial refers us to the consumer loans available at GiroBank.
