Packard Bell “Home” [01:00]# A fantastic and initially impressive extravaganza with a striking resemblance to the famous “1984” spot for Apple computers. We are shown a world where there is no joy, where life consist of endless drudgery, and where people spend mot of their time waiting. But they’re not waiting for Godot, apparently. Instead they are all waiting to do their banking business. Wouldn’t it much nicer to do this kind of business from one’s home, this commercial suggests in its (rather botched) final sequence. Payoff: “Packard Bell. Wouldn’t you rather be at home?”
