Isle of Man “Jolly Island Adventures” [00:50]# This very unusual spot for the Isle of Man Tourist Board is a re-edited, hand colored, computer manipulated cut down of a lat 40’s travel log called “The Journey of a One Pound Note.” The art director claims to have found it at the Isle of Man Tourist Board, lying on top of a pile of old film cans in a trash can. Color mattes were laid over the original black and white 16mm film and result is the tinted postcard effect which, together with the suitably arch commentary, adds yet another decidedly nostalgic touch to an ad intent on selling the Isle of Man – claim: An island caught in time – as the perfect vacation spot for all those weary of our high-tech civilization.
