Council on Battered Woman “Expecting” & “Dinner” [00:30]# Over a shot of a woman sitting in an armchair and doing needlepoint the FVO: “Some people believe that domestic violence most often occurs in times of financial stress, some people blame if on unemployment, while still others relate it to alcoholism and drug abuse. But the truth is: Battering most often occurs during the very times you least expect it.” The woman gets up from the chair and we see the she is pregnant. In the second spot the camera travels across a nicely set dinner table. FVO: “It should have been a perfect evening. She worked hard all day long to make sure that everything was just the way he like it. She planned his favorite meal and wore his favorite dress. But even that wasn’t enough: You see, Ellen was late with dinner. She’ll never do that again.” Camera pan stops over a police chalk drawing of a woman’s outline on the carpet. Super: Call an end to domestic violence. The Council on Battered Women.
