L. A. Filmfest “Gangsters” [01:00]
A couple of thugs drive through the desert, take the plastic-wrapped body from the trunk of the car and proceed to dig a grave. The body stirs. The guys whack it with their shovels. What sounds like a gruesome Tarantino-like sequence is rendered slightly surreal by the presence of a harmless-looking guy sitting in a chair nearby and munching popcorn. “For everyone who likes to watch” is the ambiguous (albeit somewhat unambitious) claim of the L.A. Film Festival.
