The most celebrated film shoe, the Nike Mag – better known as the Marty McFly Shoe from the movie Back To The Future – was auctioned in a strictly limited edition on eBay. The proceeds from the sale of the 1,500 sport shoes go to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research. To be seen on the website is the spot to accompany the campaign in which Dr. Emmett Brown appears in person. James Hilton: “How to raise $4.7million for charity: Bring back the world’s most famous shoe, limited to 1,500 pairs, auction 150 pairs every day until they’re all gone. Job done. This was the simply staggering result of the Nike Air Mag auctions on eBay. For 22 years they existed only in the year 2015 on Marty McFly’s feet, but in arguably one of the most talked-about online auctions of
all time, Nike’s legendary designer Tinker Hatfield and footwear innovator Tiffany Beers engaged their time circuits to recreate the originals. Tinie Tempah bought the first pair for $37,500. For that sort of price I don’t think he’ll be wearing them on the road. But where he’s going, he won’t need roads.”
