VW Polo “Sunday Afternoon” [01:00]#
An amusing and extremely well-observed spot for the VW Polo, for Time Magazine “commercial of the year.” It features two twentysomething slackers aimlessly cruising around a desolate stretch of Los Angeles in their VW Polo to the strains of the German pop song “Da Da Da.” Their aimless driving seems to become a little more focused when the two discover an old armchair by the side of the road. They load it into the trunk of their car, only to discover that it is a rather smelly old thing. So they chuck it out again. The final message we’re left with: “Volkswagen Polo. It fits your life or the complete lack thereof.”
