Close-ups of a Western woman and a Japanese man. The man wants to call “it” off, much to the woman’s chagrin, because he is going back to Japan. “What?” the woman cries, “Why?” she screams. “Don’t ask me why,” he says coudly as he dons leather gloves and a helmet. He leaves the restaurant to her screams of “Why?”, boards a WW 2 fighter plane and flies off. When his mistress sabotages the plane ride by hurling her high heels at the plane’s wings, things turn surrealitstic. Her insistent plea for an explanation is satisfied in a final super: He wants to return to Japan so he can watch Japanese cable TV station Wow Wow. They feature films dubbed into Japanese – or at least with Japa-nese subtitles – and have become a must for Japanese expats the world over.
