McCann Erickson, San Francisco

[2.06.023]

More Info

The fun-filled activity in this spot for the
Xbox campaign, which ends on the tagline
“Jump in,” was filmed in a barrio on
the outskirts of Buenos Aires, and has
the look of reportage/war footage about
it. We see hundreds of people engaged
in a huge water balloon fight. Some
70,000 water balloons (specially designed
balloons which break more easily
than regular balloons filled with water)
were used to stage the wet fun. The
song heard on the soundtrack, and
mixed with the sounds of the people
screaming and bursting balloons, is a
classic children’s song from the 1920s
entitled “The Teddy Bears’ Picnic.”
